Cordyceps is the ingredient behind the oxygen and lung-capacity talk. There is genuine scientific interest: a 2026 narrative review of Cordyceps militaris in healthy people found five eligible intervention studies published between 2017 and 2024, covering 321 participants in total.

The same review reported substantial variation in duration and dose, and characterised the human results on exercise performance and recovery as limited and inconsistent. Breathizen's release says that research must not be converted into a lung-capacity or oxygenation claim. There is also a species problem: the seller lists Cordyceps sinensis, a different organism from the militaris the brand names.

Worth considering for adults who want a simple once-daily botanical routine and like the spray format. Not worth it for anyone with asthma, COPD or another diagnosed respiratory condition, who needs prescribed care, or anyone expecting mucus clearance or better lung capacity — the brand declines those claims.

The seller's extra two ingredients are telling: bacopa monnieri is a cognitive herb, and green tea extract contains caffeine — printed on a page that also promises “No Stimulants”.

What actually protects breathing is unglamorous: getting a persistent symptom diagnosed, not smoking, taking prescribed inhalers as directed, and reducing air-pollution exposure.
